Reading Logs
When to use:
- to encourage students to make connections as they read
- as a reading log
- scaffolding with students who need extra support
How to use:
1. Students need to prepare their reading logs. They an purchase notebooks or simply staple paper together into a booklet.
2. Teacher decides how restricted the entry topics are and students write on them.
3. Teacher must check student entries and comment on them. REMEMBER: Reading log writing is INFORMAL so
conventions should be graded very easy.
